BILOXI, MISS. ? Big Show took center stage on WWE Main Event, irate over the circumstances involving himself, Alberto Del Rio and the World Heavyweight Championship over the past few months.

The World?s Largest Athlete was clearly an angry giant ? cutting his entrance theme short so he could scream into a microphone on his way to the ring. After berating WWE Main Event?s broadcast team ? specifically targeting The Miz ? regarding their coverage of his Elimination Chamber loss to Del Rio, Big Show turned his rage toward SmackDown General Manager Booker T. Claiming that he has been made to look like a fool, The World?s Largest Athlete sought retribution by challenging anyone in the locker room.

The first Superstars to answer Big Show?s challenge were the twin Samoans Jimmy and Jey Uso. However, the rage of the former World Heavyweight Champion quickly put tag team duo on the defensive in an impromptu Handicap Match. Though Big Show dominated the brothers early on, the brothers eventually managed to use their impeccable teamwork and execute a double team suplex followed by dual super kicks, taking down The World?s Largest Athlete . Nevertheless, The Usos? efforts were for naught as the former World Champion recovered, delivering a double choke slam for the victory.

Immediately following The Usos defeat, Brodus Clay made his way to the ring in unfamiliar fashion? ? marching forward without dancing, intent on decimating Big Show. As the opening bell for ION Television?s second impromptu contest sounded, The Funkasaurus and The World?s Largest Athlete locked up, each Superstar struggling to overpower the other. Relying on a fast-paced offense, Clay took advantage and delivered a series of colossal blows before being sent to the outside. Displaying his power and resilience, Big Show reclaimed control, although a late rally by The Funkasaurus nearly ended the former World Heavyweight Champion?s evening.? As Clay tried to execute a big splash in the corner, Big Show countered with a massive KO Punch to secure his second victory.

Alas, there was no rest for the wicked as The Great Khali made his way to the ring for Big Show?s next challenge. WWE?s resident titans collided, trading enormous blows that shook the WWE Universe inside the arena. A virtual stalemate, the gigantic grapplers battled on the outside with Khali maintaining dominance over his opponent. After being tossed into the steel steps, The World?s Largest Athlete made his way back into the ring with Khali in pursuit. As the Punjabi Superstar tried to reenter the ring, Big Show landed a huge KO Punch sending his opponent tumbling to the floor. Unable to answer the referee?s 10-count, Big Show picked up a third victory.

California carjacking spree leaves at least four dead - U.S. News

Police report a series of violent carjackings and shootings have left at least four people dead in Orange County, Calif. NBCNews.com's Dara Brown reports.

By M. Alex Johnson, NBC News

A 20-year-old college student went on a shooting rampage across Orange County, Calif., on Tuesday, killing three people and injuring several others before killing himself, authorities said.

Police said the man, identified as Ali Syed, 20, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., told one of his victims, whose car he stole: "I killed somebody. This is my last day."

In all, there were three homicide victims and at least five victims of attempted homicide, police said.

Syed, a student at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo with no criminal record, shot and killed a young woman in his home in Ladera Ranch, which he shared with his parents, said Scott Jordan, police chief of the town of Tustin, where several of the incidents occurred Tuesday.

The relationship between Syed and the young woman remained unclear, as was the reason she was in the home, police said.

Syed's parents were home at the time, about 4:45 a.m. (7:45 a.m. ET), and fled, Jordan said. Syed then took their black sport-utility vehicle and set out on a drive along Orange County's highways, stopping at times to change cars and shoot people ? apparently at random, according to police.

As state troopers homed in on him, he then killed himself.

Police and sheriff's officials gave this account of the dramatic chase:

Syed's first stop was the parking lot of a restaurant in Tustin, another Los Angeles suburb about 20 miles away, where he was spotted loading his shotgun by a man who was waiting in his car for his son.

The man quickly drove off with Syed chasing him on foot and firing his shotgun. The man was shot in the back of head but survived and managed to drive a short way before coming to a stop. He shot and wounded a second person who had rushed up to see what was happening.

Syed's car was damaged and had a flat tire, so he ran across the street to a gasoline station, where he approached a man filling up his tank. He took the man's truck after politely telling him: "I don't want to hurt you. I killed somebody. This is my last day. Give me your keys."

Investigators update the deadly carjackings in Southern California.

Now in his second stolen vehicle, Syed took off down state Route 55. He exited in Santa Ana, where he began randomly firing at vehicles on the freeway.

Three vehicles were damaged in Santa Ana, the driver of one which suffered minor injuries to his face and hand. That man drove home and called police, who began tracking Syed in earnest. All three were damaged vehicles were being treated as attempted homicides/

Back in the stolen truck, Syed again tore off down Route 55. He took an off-ramp too fast, causing him to jump the curb, whereupon he leapt out of the truck, approached a man who was stopped at a stop sign, "walked him across the road and executed him, shooting him three times," Jordan said.

That victim was identified as Melvin Lee Edwards, 69, of Laguna Hills.

Syed then took the man's BMW ? his third stolen vehicle ? and drove off to the parking lot of a computer store, where he shot two people, apparently strangers, killing one of them. The dead man was identified as Jeremy Lewis, 26, of Fullerton.

Syed drove off in yet another stolen vehicle, returning to Route 55 as emergency calls poured in to authorities. As state troopers were preparing to get into position, he exited the freeway in the city of Orange. With the stolen vehicle still moving, he jumped out, put the shotgun to his head and killed himself.

Authorities said they found the shotgun beside Syed's body. And as of late Tuesday afternoon, they said, they had no explanation for why any of it happened.

Bulgaria government resigns amid growing protests

SOFIA (Reuters) - Bulgaria's government resigned on Wednesday after violent nationwide protests against high electricity prices, joining a long list of European administrations felled by austerity after Europe's debt crisis erupted in late 2009.

Many Bulgarians are deeply unhappy over high energy costs, power monopolies, low living standards and corruption in the European Union's poorest country and protesters clashed again with police late on Tuesday.

Tens of thousands of Bulgarians have rallied in cities across the country since Sunday in protests which have turned violent, chanting "Mafia" and "Resign".

Prime Minister Boiko Borisov had tried to calm protests by sacking his finance minister, pledging to cut power prices and punishing foreign-owned companies - risking a diplomatic row with EU partner the Czech Republic - but the measures failed to defuse discontent.

"I will not participate in a government under which police are beating people," Borisov said as he announced his resignation on Wednesday. Parliament is expected to accept the resignation later in the day.

Borisov, a former bodyguard to communist dictator Todor Zhivkov, can now try to form a new government, using his rightist GERB party's strong position in parliament. If he fails an election scheduled for July may be brought forward.

GERB's popularity had held up well until late last year because austerity measures were relatively mild compared with many other European countries, with salaries and pensions frozen rather than cut. In the last opinion poll, taken before protests grew last weekend, the opposition Socialists were nearly tied with GERB.

Many Bulgarians are feeling frustrated with unemployment hitting a 10-month high of 11.9 percent and the average salary stuck at 800 levs ($550) a month. Frustrations boiled over when heating bills rose during the winter.

Bulgaria raised the costs of electricity - politically sensitive since bills eat a huge part of modest incomes - by 13 percent last July, but the real impact was not felt until households started using electrical power for heat in winter.

"The resignation is the only responsible move," said Kantcho Stoychev, an analyst with pollster Gallup International. "It also gives Borisov some legitimacy to stay in political life in the future, despite the violent police actions last night."

Borisov has said the electricity distribution license of central Europe's largest listed company, Czech-based CEZ will be revoked, setting Bulgarian on a collision course with the Czech Republic, which owns 70 percent of the company.

The Czech government has already stepped into a row between the company and Albania, which revoked the company's license last month. Czech Prime Minister Petr Necas said Bulgaria's move was highly politicized and asked for an explanation.

Since the onset of the debt crisis in 2009, more than of the EU countries have elected new governments.

Promise of Green Jobs, Social Equity in Sustainable Water Investments

Enhancing the sustainability of U.S. water resources is an increasingly pressing challenge facing urban, suburban and rural communities across the U.S. Crafting and carrying out sustainable water strategies can create substantial numbers of green jobs in a wide range of professions and address the issue of social inequity, as well as problems associated with drought, flooding, and water contamination, according to a new report from the Pacific Institute.

In Sustainable Water Jobs: A National Assessment of Water-Related Green Jobs, Pacific Institute researchers identify ?136 different kinds of jobs involved in implmenting sustainable water strategies, from plumbers to landscapers, engineers to water irrigation specialists.?

?There is great potential for partnerships between labor, business, water experts, community organizations, and policy makers to design projects and policy that are a win-win for jobs and for water improvements,? the Pacific Institute?s Eli Moore was quoted in a press release. ?Such partnerships can align worker training and certification with industry and community needs and design policy that maximizes creation of high quality jobs.?

The Pacific Institute study determined that 10-15 jobs are created by investing $1 million in alternative water supply projects; 5-20 new green jobs are created from a $1 million investment in storm water management; 12-22 jobs by investing same in urban conservation and efficiency; 14.6 jobs from agricultural efficiency and quality; and 10-72 new green jobs from a $1 million investment in restoration and remediation.

Also well worth noting among the report?s conclusions is the potential impact of sustainable water partnerships and investments on the wide range of green job opportunities that can be created, investments that can address what?s become a particularly troubling issue in the U.S.: socioeconomic equity.

?This research indicates that water policy can expand demand for workers without bachelors or advanced degrees if occupational training programs and pathways to jobs are created,? Moore elaborated. ?However, the occupations with median wages below the national median demonstrate that measures to improve job quality must also be a priority.?

?It?s key to include local hiring and minority hiring requirements and incentives that increase contracting and hiring with individuals from local and disadvantaged communities,? he continued. ?Water utilities, state water agencies, and planning departments should consider job quality, training, and targeted hiring as an integral component of sustainable water project design and implementation.?

?Federal mandates that require water improvements and promote green strategies ? such as the recent storm water guidelines and green reserve programs in State Revolving Funds ? work to meet anticipated water resource needs in ways that improve, rather than ignore, social equity, ecological conditions, and long-term sustainability of human-ecological systems. They also make labor demand more predictable and allow for more effective planning of green jobs programs,? the report authors conclude.

Included in the Pacific Institute?s report are six case studies of organizations that are providing training and employment in sustainable water:

Amigos de Rios in Altadena, CA
    Groundwork Portland in Portland, OR
Limitless Vistas in New Orleans, LA
Sustainable South Bronx in Bronx, NY
    Verde in Portland, OR
    YouthWorks in Santa Fe, NM

The making of the new WWE Title: How the WWE Championship was reinvented in 540 days

It was the guys from ?American Chopper? who really made it happen. Without Paul Teutul Sr. and his team over at Orange County Choppers, there?s a chance the WWE creative department?s concept for the new WWE Title would never have worked.

But maybe we?re getting ahead of ourselves.

Let?s start at the beginning. Some 18 months ago on the second floor of WWE?s corporate offices in Stamford, Conn., WWE?s Senior Vice President of Creative Services Stan Stanski received a request. WWE was ditching the ?spinner? version of the WWE Title that had polarized WWE fans since John Cena introduced it back in April 2005. In its place? Well, something new. What that meant was up to Stanski and company to figure out, but where do you start when you?re about to remake sports-entertainment?s most vital piece of hardware? (PHOTOS | WATCH THE TITLE'S UNVEILING)

?The first thing we do is exhale,? Stanski told WWE.com. ?Then we think: What are we really up against and what are we looking to do??

During our conversation, a prototype version of the new WWE Championship was splayed out on the desk in front of Stanski like a cherished newborn. But a year and a half ago, the Senior Vice President and his creative team only had opinions. There was talk of a red leather strap and even a title affixed with door hinges on both sides, but one thing was certain ? they were going to turn wrestling tradition on its cauliflower ear. (PHOTOS OF THE WWE TITLE'S EVOLUTION)

?Our idea was never to take a step back or do something predictable or expected,? Stanski said. ?We wanted to evolve the brand and create something that?s never been done before.?

The group wasn?t necessarily looking to reinvent the wheel ? the championship would look like a championship ? but the globes, eagles and whatever else WWE fans had grown accustomed to seeing in bronze on a title would be replaced by new ideas.

?You don?t always know what a traditional title might represent,? Stanski pointed out. ?We wanted you to know immediately that this was the WWE Championship.?
