Loudoun County will hold a free informational seminar about the Loudoun County Home Improvement Program (LCHIP) on Tuesday, October 16, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Sugarland Run Community Center, 200 Greenfield Court in Sterling. The countywide program provides funds to renovate and repair the primary residences of low-to-moderate income homeowners in Loudoun. Eligibility for the program is determined by income. Loans are awarded based on credit worthiness. The loans have a ten-year term and may be forgivable and/or interest free. Typical repairs and renovations include correcting code violations, addressing health and safety issues, and making the home more energy efficient. ?Repairs also may be made to plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and interior/exterior components. All work is performed by licensed, bonded and insured contractors.
