Purpose

Programme Manager with Business Change / Organisational Development experience required by our education client for a fixed term of 12 months. Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for 2 programmes of work, focussing on Internal Improvements and cultural change.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a Programme Manager with Prince2 / MSP accreditation and / or equivalent experience. You should have budget management experience of ?4m+ and have demonstrable experience of managing Project Managers who are not fully committed to projects but have BAU activity as well. You will also work in conjunction with a PMO. In terms of the programmes to be delivered; key areas will include the improvement of financial MI reporting processes, Improvement of Back Office Processes, Facilities improvements, HR system improvements and workforce development projects. This is clearly a very varied role and as such our client is looking for an exceptional communicator with a diverse background.

Skills

  • Degree in a relevant discipline or its equivalent in terms of successful working experience
  • Formal programme and project management approaches, such as MSP, PRINCE2 etc
  • Extensive knowledge of IT system implementation
  • Strong understanding of commercial and technical business change programmes
  • Excellent programme and project management skills at a senior level, in managing and successfully delivering complex multi-strand programmes
  • Experience of working in a constantly changing environment
  • Operational planning, budgeting and resource allocation within a programme management environment
  • Contract management and procurement experience
  • Risk management and contingency planning
  • Policy development and implementation
  • Complex stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to lead a team of specialised staff working in a high pressure environment
  • Formal techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
  • Ability to produce reports for board and senior level managers
  • Experience of producing and giving presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Knowledge of appropriate IT applications including MS Project
