Our nationally accredited Children?s Center provides a continuum of child care and educational programs for approximately 300 children a day, while offering a range of family strengthening services for their parents and guardians.

Job Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for all aspects of care and education provided in their classroom. The Lead Teacher is the leader of the classroom team. The Lead Teacher provides modeling to staff and ensures that developmentally appropriate activities are provided, that appropriate assessment of children?s progress is completed, and that appropriate standards or regulations are followed. Additionally, the Lead Teacher makes sure that each child?s individual needs are met.

Essential Functions

• Plan and provide developmentally appropriate activities and experiences
• Provide active, fully engaged supervision of the children
• Develop and implement lesson plans to facilitate the children?s development in multiple areas.
• Provide direction support to classroom staff
• Ensure that child assessments and screenings are completed
• Ensure that classroom is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Attend meetings for, and follow and implement the goals from, the Public Schools or Early Intervention for children with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
• Implement strategies from the Social Worker for children with social-emotional or behavioral issues.
• Encourage parents to be involved in the program through such means as parent meetings, parent/teacher conferences, home visits, family events, parent workshops, curriculum planning, and attending field trips.

Qualifications

• Bachelor?s in Early Childhood Education or combination of Bachelor?s in related field and concentration in Early Childhood Education????????????????????????????????????????
• Upon hire, must pass criminal and child abuse background checks.
• Minimum of one (1) years of classroom experience
• Must be able to pass all applicable criminal and child abuse background checks
