By Andrew Rafferty, Staff Writer, NBC News

Oregon police have surrounded a motel where they believe an ex-con accused of murdering his elderly grandparents is hiding.

Michael ?Chad? Boysen, 26, has been the subject of a manhunt throughout the Pacific Northwest after his grandparents were found dead late Saturday. The King County, Wash., Sheriff?s Department announced Tuesday that local authorities had closed in on the Westshore Oceanfront Motel in Lincoln City, Ore., where the suspect is thought to be holed up.

An?employee at the hotel told authorities she recognized Boysen after seeing reports of the manhunt on the news, according to the Lincoln City Guard.

The newspaper reports that the hotel and surrounding area have been evacuated and that the suspect has refused to respond to attempts by police to resolve the situation peacefully.

Boysen has been described as ?extremely dangerous? and has a warrant out for his arrest on suspicion of first-degree murder.?
He was staying with his grandparents in the Seattle suburb of Renton, Wash., after serving a prison sentence for robbery.

Police said the grandparents were not shot but declined to provide other details about their killings, pending autopsies.
