5 Tips On How To Be An Authority Blogger - Article Submitter

When it gets down to it, a blog is really a more personalized source of information. Bloggers are as real as they can get - writing articles infused with their own opinions based on personal experience or taste. If Peter Jennings had a blog, it probably wouldn't sound like his newscast.

Blogs are not made to be at par with Wikipedia, but there are some blogs out there that seem to have grasped the attention of readers so much that they're recognized as the subject authority. Such are known as 'Authority Blogs'. These blogs have become the go-to place for readers looking for unbiased, unsolicited information. Expert bloggers will tell you to be like them. But to do that, you must know what makes authority blogs tick. Here are 5 essential tips on how to be an authority blogger.

1. Talk the talk - Remember the intellectual impact your college professor created the first time you sat on his class? If you want to be recognized as a niche expert, you have to talk like one . That's the kind of impression you'd want to create to be perceived as a subject know-it-all. Granted, your last name is not "-Pedia" (Wiki Pedia, get it?), you are allowed to learn new things as you blog. If readers throw you a difficult question, simply do your own research or straight out tell the reader that it's an area you are still exploring.

2. Peer up - Birds of the same feather.... you know how the saying goes! Bloggers are known to band together in online communities. Usually, the ones who write about the same topics belong to a single group. It's important to get to know other bloggers, authority ones or not, because these people help each other out. You can mention each other in blog entries, exchange links and do guest posts to create a more visible authority.

3. Be an innovator - Blog seniority is measured not just by blog age alone. Being a pioneer can also get your blog up on the pedestal. Mt. Everest has been summited numerous times but it doesn't stop the many other people who climb it year after year. So what if the first summit record is taken? These climbers go after the other world records the mountain still offer, such as being the first to climb it using a pogo stick - without supplemental oxygen - things like that! For your blog, develop an idea that would put you on the map, so to speak. Do something that's never, or maybe only a handful of people have, done before.

4. Talk about the mundane - It might sound silly that run-of-the-mill bloggers talk about the mundane, so why should you? Just because you're an authority blogger doesn't mean you should only be writing about extraordinary stuff. Some people like to be reminded of the everyday. And if this everyday topic can be discussed in an expert voice, it just sounds way more interesting. Who knows, a closer look at laundry sorting can be a hit article for stay at home moms!

5. Bring it - Mediocrity has no place in authority blogs. What can you bring on the table? Bring it! Authority blogs carry a reputation that can easily be toppled by another newcomer. So, challenge yourself to outdo your last entry each time you update your blog. Set a goal to make each article a hall-of-famer in its own right.

Being an authority blogger is not about being pretentious. It's about putting your best foot forward to become recognized by readers as a credible, if not the prioritized voice in the blog world.
