Deputy Mayor of Tunbridge Wells opens new Halfords Autocentre in Town

The Deputy Mayor of Tunbridge Wells, Councillor Dr Ronen Basu, took time out of his busy schedule to officially open a new business in the town.

Eight jobs have been created in Tunbridge Wells when the new Halfords Autocentre opened. The new garage in Spa Industrial Park is the latest garage to be opened by the national car repair, servicing and MOT network.

In addition to creating jobs in the town Halfords Autocentres is making a six-figure investment in acquiring and equipping the centre, and the company is set to spend a further ?15,000 per month with local suppliers, further boosting the region?s economy.

The company is also seeking to bring clarity for motorists by eliminating the jargon frequently spoken by mechanics. With nine out of ten car owners saying they are left bewildered by terminology used by garages, Halfords Autocentre is championing the use of ?plain English? and its Glossary of Garage Speak ? an easy to understand guide of motoring industry terms ? is available free of charge from the garage.
