Teammate Mackie Miller also hit a home run. On the mound, Shimmel struck out six.

Cody Brittain pitched five innings striking out two while walking five, but left his stamp at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs.

???---?Cashtown 2-10, Brushtown 1-4: Cashtown's doubleheader at Brushtown was, at times, akin to crawling on a barbed-wire fence.

Even so, Cashtown swept the Bulldogs to push its doubleheader record to 13-5, and overall record to 18-5.

"That was about the toughest doubleheader we've had all year," Cashtown manager Matt Rebert said. "(Brushtown) is a good young team and they came here today to win two games."

The Pirates trailed all throughout game one before mounting a two-out, two strike rally in the seventh to make starter Chase King a winner.

Cashtown then raced to a 6-1 lead in the second game before Brushtown temporarily rallied to tighten it up.
